Fury Tactical Spike Folding Tool

So far So Good, for the price

In case you weren’t aware, the knife is made in China. If you have a bias against knives made in China, then this review is probably not for you. If you are more open-minded, then hopefully this honest assessment of the knife will be helpful.

The knife is a knock off of the more expensive Myerchin P300 Sailor’s Tool. (see: Myerchin Knives P300SL Sailors Tool with Silver Handles ) I’m not sure of the steel used but assume it to be 420HC or 440 Stainless.

The marlin spike and blade lock in the open place with liner locks. The pliers are light-weight but should be good enough for breaking open shackles. They are no better or worse than those found on any other multi-tool but are more useful than a shackle key blade.

The sheepshead blade is short and serrated and while very sharp from the factory will be difficult to sharpen unless you know how to sharpen serrated blades. The thumb…

Awesome tool at amazing price

The construction is only moderately good, but for the price this is an exceptional tool. The spike and blade are both perfectly designed for serious ropework, the locking mechanism is easy to use and (at least brand new) seems secure. The pliers sticking out of one end are a little weird, and I’d almost be happier without them, but hey, it never hurts to have one more tool on you. They are fairly effective pliers.

Surprisingly

This boating tool is a great bang for the buck. Its comfortable to hold as a knife or with the marlin spike. The blade and spike are easy to open one handed and lock. The pilers could be useful and don’t interfere in any way. Wish they made a straight blade version. The only thing missing is a screwdriver tool. When its closed it kind of looks like a fish.
