Dinky Li’l Party Forks
Yep, they’re tiny all right. Each comes in at a whopping 3 15/16″ in length, and all of a half-inch wide at its biggest. These are not the kind of flatware you’re going to want if you’re tucking into Grandma’s famous Easter ham; go with the significantly more manly bayonet fork and stab the hell out of it, dude.
These dainty little utensils are for formal entertaining, for picking up that bite-size morsel of cheese, maybe a rolled cold cut, or even the standard little party BBQ meatball. These suckers are just the right size for it, for that single-serving bite.
The packaging says they’re made of “heavy weight plastic” [sic]. They’re not too bad, strong enough and not flimsy. They bend and twist a bit, and the fork tines flex a little bit, too, more than up to the task of sticking some chow and holding it in place to slide into your eating hole. When they do snap–and one was sacrificed…
Small and cute…but are they safe?
These are only 4 inches in length.
They are plastic with a silver-like coating to make them look like they are made of stainless steel or similar metal.
Their intended use is for stabbing small bits of cheese, meat or other food items on a party tray or similar device.
Their durability is similar to other plastic ware I’ve used for picnics and such. Press too hard and they will break at the narrowest point on the handle, as you would expect.
My concern is what may or may not be used to create the silver “look” to the forks. There is no information about whether or not it has been tested for lead content, or other metal content that is not recommended for human consumption. There is no information on the packaging regarding their safety.
One pack of forks received!
This item is advertised as a pack of six, which lead me to believe I would receive six pack of forks with 48 forks in each pack. I paid the 21.00 for my six pack of forks, and only received one pack of forks! I was livid, contacted amazon, and they reshipped the item. Low and behold, my replacement order also contained ONE pack of forks!
