The best things are always simple
I so glad to get rid of that ‘strainer’. It was always collecting all kinds of stuff that required cleaning. This is simplicity itself. The slots around the collar are large enough to let most organic material by without having to worry about losing any utensils. This is a perfect inexpensive gift for the new homeowner.
Wished I had ordered sooner!
I replaced the old nasty cover with a new one that turned out to be too stiff to push food into the disposal. I saw the disposal genie on a shopping channel and then read the reviews. Did my measuring to ensure it would fit. Only regret was that I wish I had ordered it sooner. It works great. Nothing falls into the disposal except small bits of food thru the conveniently designed top. The scraper is pliable to push the food you want into the disposal, add the genie and flip the switch.

I really love the Disposal Genie and even purchased an extra one so that I could have one in the dishwasher and one in the drain.
I guess there is not a lot to say about this type of product. It does what it says it does. It fits perfectly in my Insinkerator drain. It is well constructed and will probably last just about forever. It is easy to keep clean and, since I only run the dishwasher about once a week, I decided that it would be twice as good to have two of them so I can have one in the dishwasher and one in use at all times.
They do make them in other colors, but black was what I wanted anyway so I was happy to find them here at amazon.
