I purchased these cups for two entirely different reasons. First, I wanted a cheap pot for my young African violets. I had recently purchased some plants that had arrived in semi clear version of these cups, but I don’t like them because It has been my experience that clear or white pots let light through to the soil and promote the growth of algae. The opaque black of these cups prevents that. These pots are also of the same shape of the azalea pots that are most highly recommended for many house plants. All I have to do is take a hot soldering to burn in the drainage holes.

My second use is the usual one as a holder for gelatin and puddings. Everyone likes Pudding and Jello cups, and it is far cheaper to make your own and put it up in these cups. They also make good party favors, especially for Halloween. Just burn in a hole on each side near the top, attach a handle of wire or chenille stem and decorate as you like.
