Lots of Leaking – Not!
Purchased 1000 of these with lids about a year ago. Run a B&B and use these cups for our guests’ early morning coffee availability (can take cup of coffee back to their rooms at 7:00 AM). Through our own experience and our guests’ we have found that at least 1/4 of these cups leak out the bottom significantly enough to ruin clothes and furniture. We have complained to the Dixie customer service email on the bottom of each cup…no response. Considering the failure rate for an item we buy in bulk and the lack of response to our complaints, we cannot recommend this product at all, in fact it is probably costing us money and guests.
July 2011 – Finally made contact with Georgia Pacific, makers of this line of Dixie Cups. Personal contact revealed GP to be very interested in the problem, asking for many samples of the defect lot. I want to return the whole thing
Useful and serviceable
The cups came to my attention during a major renovation of my home when we did not yet have running water. They have the smoothness and texture of a paper cup, but the insulating qualities of Styrofoam. Much nicer for drinking than the plain Styrofoams.
