great all around plates
We like these because they are sturdy enough for most uses, but don’t break the bank. Great for BBQ, or just anytime you need disposable plates. We find the 8.5" size to be an all around good size for most any use that we have.

Our neighborhood does block parties about 6 times a year, so these are great!
They are cheap enough that you can double them up when you need them to be extra sturdy, but they are pretty sturdy for most thing without doubling.
They work great in the microwave (think leftover pizza). Good for hot stuff or cold. Ok for really wet stuff. The plate will get soggy if you leave wet stuff on it for along time, but it is usually fine for 30 minutes or so. It mostly just makes the plate feel flimsy if you put really wet food on it, so double up. Salads with dressing or gravy and potatoes are typically fine, but dumping fruit cups with all its watery juice on the plate should be doubled up if it might sit for a while.
Many uses
I use this mainly to feed our cat instead of having to wash out her bowls. Also, I use to reheat meals in microwave (for the humans!)
